Sedalia Post #642 Wins Local Wood Bat Tourney

The Sedalia Senior Legion Post #642 baseball team made up of some local talent swept through the eight team wood bat tourney in Sedalia last Friday through Sunday, June 28-30.

The Travelers beat a 643 KC in a 6-3 final in their first game. Lincoln's Riley Sanders went 3 for 3 at the plate.

They then advanced to beat Blue Springs Fike with an 8-7 final.

Sanders also went 6 innings, surrendering 3 earned runs with 6 K's.

He also finished 1 for 2 with 3 RBI's.

Lincoln's Hunter Vandaveer went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI's.

Camden Everhart was 2 for 4 with 1 run batted in.

In a tough one, the Post #642 defeated the SWMO Cobras, 3-1 in their next matchup.

Vandaveer went 7 innings and kept his pitch total to just 78.

Putting their game all together, Sedalia capped the tournament with an 8-0 championship win over Oak Grove.

Sanders went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored while Everhart went 1 for 2.

The team is coached by Lincoln products Connor Spunaugle and Hayden Beaman.
