"The Sandman" Settles In To Lead Cardinals Football In 2023

Sophomore Riley Sanders is the new quarterback for Lincoln High School. It is his job for the next three years if all plans go well.
Though short on numbers, Lincoln has a good group of sophomores comparable to their outstanding sophomore classes of the past.
With no seniors and very few juniors, the youngsters will be asked to step up and will probably take their lumps at times against senior laden squads. Yeah, 16 year olds playing against 18 year olds doesn't always bring good results.
Sanders has an arm and has a good receiver in fellow sophomore Dawson Parrott and a few others. Parrott, with his speed and quickness, will baffle defenders on special teams and when he catches the ball there better be a posse to hunt him down.
Sophomore Anthony Srader, affectionately called 'Bug',  will be their number one running back. He has break away speed and is learning more tips of the game from assistant Coach Connor Spunaugle as we speak.
Sophomore Ben Eckhoff will bolster the line which is always a huge offensive key, needless to say.
Junior Cam Everhart can play just about anywhere  and a slew of leadership responsibilities will fall on his shoulders.
However, it is Sanders team now. Gone are QB's Connor Lynde and Kyle Eckhoff.
Sanders wanted the torch.  Now it's all his.
We wish him the best.
