Benton County Considers Grants For Clean-Up

Cole Camp Mayor Bob Meuschke, Lincoln Mayor Glen Nelson and Warsaw City Administrator Randy Pogue were among the guests at a West Central Association of Realtors meeting at the Yellow Deli on May 25.
The county representatives were there to discuss possible grants for improvements to the three Benton County towns.
The City of Lincoln recently completed a Green Space next to City Hall as the result of a $4,500 Placemaker Grant.  Lincoln realtor Lacey Smallwood helped the Lincoln community apply for the grant and then several Lincoln High School students helped with the labor.
The area next to Lincoln City Hall had been torn down and was in need of repair.  The grant gave the city the money to clean up the space, put in benches and make a space for people to gather.
The City of Warsaw is considering doing something similar at the old Lighthouse area.
“We are considering putting in bike racks, benches and a maintenance trail at the Lighthouse Park next to the town branch,” said Warsaw City Administrator Randy Pogue.
Zack Brown, lobbyist and director, economic development, from Jefferson City spoke to the group about helping in the grant application process.
“I am here to help Benton County anyway I can just let me know what you need,” said Brown.
