Bluebirds Prove To Be Too Much For Lone Jack

Posted
The Cole Camp Bluebirds moved to 2-2 on the season with a 48-19 thumping of winless Lone Jack at home on Friday night.
Cole Camp scored in the first on a 40 yard carry from sophomore Grant Rodriguez. Remember the name, as he has two more years to grind out yards. Reid Harrison missed the kick as it was 6-0.
Harrison may have had troubles kicking extra points but made up for it with his blazing speed as he caught a pass from QB Gentry Dieckman and rambled 66 yards for a TD. Dieckman hit Matthew Bright for the two pointer to make it 14-0 after one.
In the second quarter, Rodriguez scored from 22 yards out. Harrison's kick was blocked and it was 20-0.
Lone Jack scored from five out and kicked the PAT and it was 20-7.
Again, Harrison's speed came into play as he  ran back the kickoff from the ten for the TD. Yes, 90 yards. Dieckman rewarded him with a two point pass and it was 28-7 at the half.
Rodriguez scored from the 32. Harrison missed the kick. It was now 26-7.
Dieckman, with the golden arm, had a good night passing as he found Harrison again from the 17. The PAT made it 34-7.
Lone Jack scored and Grady Strathman scored and it was 48-13 after three.
Lone Jack scored against Cole Camp's JV to make it 48-19 for the night.
Dieckman was 12 for 16  pasing for 223 yards. Rodriguez ran 8 times for 99 yards. Strathman was 9 for 65  and Mr. Harrison was 4 for 23.
In the air receiving, Harrison was 5 for 117, Strathman 2 for 26, Rodriguez 2 for 16, and Grant Elliott 1 for 29.
Head Coach Kevin Shearer commented, "We did a good job catching the ball. Tackling was better at times. Lone Jack was good at pitching and catching."
He went on to say, "We still have room for improvement and we need to be more physical in all aspects of the game."
The Bluebirds host Versailles this Friday at 7:00 PM.
