Cole Camp's Second Half Crushes Wildcats Early Hopes

For the most of three quarters, the Warsaw Wildcats played with the Cole Camp Bluebirds on the road Thursday night in Cole Camp.
The Wildcats, with just one win this season, trailed Cole Camp  29-19 at the half before faltering in the third quarter en route to a 65-31 thumping by the Bluebirds.
Warsaw head coach Matt Brownsberger commented, "We are unable to put four quarters together. It may sound strange to say, but we are losing, but we are improving. I believe we will be playing our best ball at the end of season."
Warsaw played a 1-2-2 zone and doubled down low on Cole Camp's center Michael Wissman.
It was 20-8 after one as Cole Camp's Grady Strathman banked in a three at the buzzer.
Warsaw hung around in the third trailing by nine most of the time until Cole Camp stretched the lead to 39-24 to end the quarter.
The wheels came off in the fourth as Cole Camp managed a running clock with a 30 point lead and both coaches emptied their benches with three minutes to go in the contest.
Sophomore Logan Gemes scored seven of Warsaw's eight first quarter points to keep the scrappy smaller squad in the game.
The Bluebird's 6'6" lanky forward Gentry Dieckman also had seven in the first on his way to a game-high 20 point night. He excited the crowd in the first with a break away dunk.
Cole Camp head coach Kevin Shearer commented, "We are struggling shooting the ball. We need to hit from the perimeter to be able to score in the paint. We stress timing and spacing and we are not doing either one very well at this point in the season."
Cole Camp moved to 11-5 while Warsaw fell to 1-10.
