The top-seeded Lincoln Lady Cardinals defeated Otterville 19-0 in the first round of Class 1 District 7 play on Monday at home over three short no-hit and no-walk innings from freshman Braylin Paxton. It was her second no-hitter in as many games.
She struck out seven and threw 24 strikes in 39 pitches, much improved from the start of the season.
Senior Jenna Vandaveer drew two walks and scored three times.
Courtney Stephens hit a triple to right center driving in three.
Oliva Breshears, with her new found power, had a double scoring a run.
Lincoln climbed to 9-9.
In other games, (5) Green Ridge upset (4) Smithton, 15-5; (2) Sacred Heart/LaMonte handled (7) Bunceton/Praire Home, 17-7; and (3) Sweet Springs/Malta Bend defeated (6) Northwest (Hughesville), 12-7.
