Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!
-Revelation 5:13

In the above words, the entire universe is praising God. The God they are praising is God the Father and God the Son (the Lamb). Jesus is called “the Lamb” because his primary ministry was to be the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Jesus receives the same praise and honor as the Father. That means He is equal to the Father. In the mystery of the Trinity, God exists eternally in three persons, yet there is but one God. Many have written books seeking to explain the Trinity, but it remains a mystery. I believe in One God in three persons because Scripture compels me to that conclusion. Some say that Jesus was simply a human being, a great prophet. But great prophets do not receive the same praise and honor as God the Father. Isaiah or Jeremiah would be horrified if we gave to them the same honor we give to God.
Jesus was a unique person. There is no one like Him in all of human history. He is God and man united in one person. He is both human and divine. How can that be? I have no idea, but that is how He is revealed in Scripture. We are to honor Him as we honor the Father. We honor Him in two ways. We trust in Him as our Savior, and we follow Him as our Lord. As Savior, He atoned for our sins and purchased a place in heaven for us; as our Lord, He is worthy to be both trusted and obeyed. In Revelation 5:13, the entire universe is praising God. How are you doing?

Lincoln First Baptist Church

Hello. It was a great day to be in the Lord’s house. We prayed for Pastor Jesse because of a health problem. We came together, laid hands on him and prayed that Jesus would heal him. He is to take it easy for awhile. Loren Simmons filled in for him today. Loren and Penny Simmons celebrated an anniversary today.
We were blessed to have two young ladies sing a special today. Ally and Maddie sang a song that Ally had written. They did a fantastic job. We are blessed to have their family attending church with us.
Bible school was well attended this past week. The attendance ranged from 23 to 36 kids. It was a great time in the Lord. They learned about creation. Everyone enjoyed their time together.
Pastor Simmons message was from Acts 5.. The way we approach God was the message. He talked about Ananias and Sapphira. They told the apostles they would give all the money from the sell of their land to the church. They both lied to Peter and the people gathered. Worst than that they lied to God. In doing this they both ended up dead.
They were both part of the church and wanted to get noticed. In God’s word it says don’t let the right hand know what the left hand is doing. Do things in private so you can be rewarded in public. Let the Holy Spirit guide you. God has a plan and no sin can go unforgiven. Seek God daily, live a life of repentance and don’t lose contact with God.
There are three things we need to do. 1 Love the Lord, 2 Love you fellow man and 3 Love yourself. When you repent under the blood of Jesus your sin is gone. God took care of our sins.
UNTIL NEXT TIME GOD BLESS.

Unity Of The Lakes

Reverend Sandra Campbell will be speaking on Sunday, July 14th at 11 AM. Her talk will be “Stay on the Path”.
When we affirm “Divine Order,” what we are really saying is don’t look to the left or right, just keep moving forward. In other words, stay on the path. We can rise above any obstacle by staying focused on our goals. By consciously centering our minds on the path ahead we proceed with poise and confidence to our destination, and we can say with certainty that “The light of God surrounds us; the love of God enfolds us; the power of God protects us; the presence of God watches over us; wherever we are (on our path) God is” and all is in Divine Order.
Teresa Cicela will be our Musician with special music performed by Stephanie Bland, a talented singer and choir director who performs at Unity Village Chapel and other Unity churches including leading the choir at Unity of Houston. Stephanie just retired from 44 years as an educator, including music director and principal of various schools in the Kansas City area.
Unity Of The Lakes is located at 34948 Hwy 65 South, Warsaw, about 8 miles south of Warsaw between 7 Hwy East and Fristoe.
Please join us for a lesson in positive, practical Christianity and stay for fellowship and food!

In Matthew 22:15-34, The Pharisees come to Jesus one last time asking what is the greatest commandment? Often different, depending on what tradition you grew up with. Jesus replies, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. It sums up all the others. If we love God with every bit of what we feel, think, and do. Jesus continues, the second is like it, Love your neighbor as yourself. Everything they read is summed up by these two commandments. Love God and love other people. Then Jesus asks His own question – Whose Son is the Messiah? They believed the Messiah would be only a human. They thought they were waiting for a human king. Whose Son is the Messiah, they say David. Jesus replies, If David calls the Messiah his God, who is the Savior?
Jesus is completely man and completely God. He is the Son of God and Son of Man. When the Son of God dies on the cross and raises 3 days later, Jesus challenges everything they hold dear. To deliver us from the deepest, darkest thing that lives inside us. It should radically reshape our lives. How can we be the same. We should be transformed by who Jesus is. We are better reflection of our desire than we reflect Jesus. Start by being a better reflection of the love Jesus has for other people. What good is the truth if we can’t speak it in love. Do we want to share the love of Jesus with other people. Are we ready to serve the Almighty God together?
Join us Sunday mornings for Sunday School at 10 a.m. with Worship at 11 a.m. We have a new Sunday evening Children’s Program at 5:30 p.m. with Adult Bible Study at 6 p.m. Our mid-week Bible Study is Wednesday at 6 p.m. Watch our service live at 11 a.m. each Sunday on Hopewell Baptist Church Facebook page.

From The Pastor's Desk

Calvinism,
I Don't Think So.

I do not know how any educated Pastor or Christian for that matter could be a Calvinists. I explained TULIP to our Wednesday night prayer group and they saw errors with all five points.
I don't want to offend anyone, but the Calvinists' concept of God is warped. They twist scriptures to their own philosophy.
I read recently where a pastor said if he was a Calvinist then he would have gone crazy holding his newborn daughter and wondering if she was elected to Heaven or to Hell. That God pre-destinated some to Hell and they have no free choice in the matter. What that means is that she will never trust Christ, never be a Christian and will burn in a devil's Hell.
God can't do that because He is holy. Yes, He is a God of love and also a God of wrath, but His holiness keeps Him fair and just.
So here is a very brief but decisive debunk of TULIP.
Total Depravity-While earning God's favor is impossible because we are spiritually depraved, we can do good deeds. We know right from wrong.
Unconditional Election-In John 5:40, Jesus said you won"t come to me. Not that you can't. It destroys irresistible grace too.
Limited Atonement- In John 2:2, He died for the sins of the whole world.
Irresistible Grace-See John 5:40 and Acts 7:51.
Perseverance of the saints-In Peter 1:5, John 10:28. We are preserved in Christ.
I preached this on Facebook this past week. If you want a much more complete study, Grace Baptist Church is located at 31046 Hwy MM in Warsaw. Call (660) 281-4775 for more info.
