Helen Marie Orfield, age 88, of Lincoln, Missouri passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at the Lincoln Community Care Center. She was born on October 12, 1934 on the family farm near Warsaw the third child of August J. and Katie (Ditler) Meyer. She was baptized as a child of God on November 4, 1934 and publicly confessed her faith by confirmation on March 21, 1948, at Zion Lutheran Church.
Helen attended elementary school at McFarland School, walking several miles to and from the one-room school house. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1952.
On March 29, 1959 she was united in marriage to Theodore Junior Orfield. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2019. Helen was a bookkeeper for MFA Implement Corp and Kaysinger Equipment Company and enjoyed gardening and planting flowers.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Junior Orfield, a brother Earl Meyer, and a sister Ruth Bistline.
She is survived by her brother, Alvin Meyer, of Warsaw, a sister-in-law, Carrie Lou Meyer, of Lincoln, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Helen M. Orfield will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Lincoln, Missouri.
Viewing will be available Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M.
