Lady Bluebirds End Season In Districts

Posted

The Cole Camp Lady Bluebirds volleyball season came to an end in Versailles last week. They lost in the first round of districts to Tipton 15-25, 20-25, 24-26.

Head Coach  Abby Massingill commented, "Unfortunately, it wasn't our night and being young, nerves and inexperience came into play. Tipton played well and we did not."

Statistical leaders were senior Emily Burdick with 9 kills and 12 digs, promising freshman Andrea Dieckman had 8 kills and senior Gracie Thompson had 20 digs.

Cole Camp ended their season at 17-15-2 overall.

Walking down memory lane, Coach Massingill said of her three seniors, "I will miss the leadership they brought to the court.  They all three made every one of the younger players feel a part of the team. I will miss watching how much each one of them improved."

Their Junior High went undefeated, winning their conference tournament.

Coach Massingill went on to say, "The future is bright at Cole Camp for the volleyball program, not just because of the incoming freshman, but across the board because of the dedication  and the off season work they all put in."

We wish them well.
