Dear Editor,
I am very curious as to why the State goes through the expense and time to set Child Support Orders, and doesn't follow through with them. I personally know a few young Mothers, and I'm sure there are some Dads, that are struggling on a daily basis because these orders are not enforced. The absent parent, in most cases, is totally enjoying the freedom of not taking care of their responsibilities!!!! From what I have researched, $5,000.00 and up, in arrears, is considered a Felony. Why isn't the State taking care of this. It all seems to be swept under the rug until the custodial Parent starts fighting for it, and they shouldn't have another problem to take care of. These Children didn't ask to be brought into the world. They ALL deserve to be taken care of properly!!!! If the absent parent won't help support them, they deserve to sit in jail.
