Numbers Prevail For Cole Camp In Matchup With Green Ridge

As discussed in an article earlier this year in the BCE, numbers play a big part in small school sports.
In the junior high contest, Green Ridge had a player injured during the contest that forced them to forfeit their match to Cole Camp for lack of numbers. Game over?  No, Cole Camp, in a great show of sportsmanship, loaned Green Ridge several players to keep playing.
It was unofficially, 2-0 Cole Camp.
In the varsity match, numbers played a part as Cole Camp lost 12-2. It was 3-0 in the first half and 9-2 in the second.
Cole Camp head coach Ryan Crawford said, "We played with more confidence and more aggressively than we have in the past. We played more connected and with more pace however we weren't finishing. We had a total of 19 shots but didn't find net on 17 of those. Second half, our fitness and health gave out. We had a single sub coming in with a sprained ankle just to give breaks. Green Ridge had the numbers to keep fresh legs on the attack and having a game the night before, we just couldn't keep up there at the end and they got away from us."
Those scoring for the Bluebirds were freshman Kyler Sabala and senior Isaac Vosmith.
Cole Camp fell to 1-7.
