After throttling Eldorado Springs last Wednesday, 11-1, the Wildcats kept an eye on the game that followed theirs and watched Cole Camp upset Versailles with a 6-1 final, setting up an All-Benton County matchup for the Class 3 District 13 championship on Thursday.

Both teams got strong pitching performances from their hurlers, but Warsaw's Ryan Fajen notched the 2-0 win for the Wildcats by holding the Bluebirds scoreless over 7 innings. He scattered 6 hits along the way and struck out 9.

Kolby Bohon was also big on the bump for the Bluebirds. He tossed all 6 innings and allowed just 2 runs on 8 hits and struck out 3.

Warsaw picked up 1 run in the bottom of the third on a sacrifice fly by Jayce Depriest that scored Josh Harvath and got their other run in the bottom of the fourth on another sacrifice fly, this time by Drake Murrell that scored Reece Maxwell.

Fajen retired the Bluebirds in order in the fifth and then got huge help from his defense with a double-play in the sixth to end the most potent Cole Camp threat of the day.

Fajen's gem ended when he induced a ground out and struck out 2 in the seventh to secure the 2-0 win for Warsaw.

Sonny Garrett led the Wildcats with 3 hits while Kendall Bagley picked up 2; one hit apiece was added by Logan Gemes, Jase Hubert and Reece Maxwell.

Drew Burke, Dasch Kaiser, Grant Rodriguez, Kolby Bohon, Cody Dewitt and Bovey Clark all had hits for Cole Camp.

Warsaw (17-11) moved on to take on Lone Jack on Tuesday night while the Bluebirds ended their season with a record of 10-12.
