The Clinton Methodist Church was the site of the Henry County Missouri Retired Teachers Back to School Dinner/August meeting. A plethora of wonderful food—from Landmark fried chicken to side dishes to desserts—was presented to retired teachers and guests.
The evening’s speaker was Maria Walden, Executive Director of Missouri Retired Teachers Association who brought information about legislation affecting education and teacher retirement. A brief business meeting followed with Virgie Cook, District 6 President, conveying news regarding this area of Missouri. Vice-president Pam Robbins reported on the recipients of the grants given by Henry County MRTA to two Henry County teachers.
All Henry County retired teachers are encouraged to join the organization to keep abreast of how MRTA is working for them.
