Stewart Awarded Ralph Fidler, Jr Excellence In Education Scholarship

Logan Stewart, Sherwood, was awarded the Ralph Fidler, Jr. Excellence in education Scholarship, presented by NeCo Seed Farms. He was presented the award by NeCo General Manager, Michael Marconett. Logan Stewart, a senior graduate at Sherwood High School, has been awarded the Ralph Fidler Jr -Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship, valued at $1,000.00. This is the 14th year the scholarship has been available, which honors Ralph Fidler, Jr. Ralph graduated from Sherwood High School and was employed by NeCo Seed Farms, Inc. for 10 years. Ralph had a passion for agriculture, a strong work ethic, and was a highly committed team member. He passed away of A.L.S. in May of 2010. The scholarship is awarded to an individual who has exhibited the strength of character to “accept the challenge to improve the field of agriculture.” This person also demonstrates a strong work ethic as evidenced by excelling in school and the organizations he or she is involved in, and has financial need.
Logan plans on attending Wyotech of Laramie, Wyoming this summer of 2024. He will be majoring in Diesel Technology. This major will allow him the knowledge needed to give back to his community, providing a local and affordable mechanic for farmers and their equipment. At Sherwood High School, Logan maintained a 3.63 GPA and was an officer of FFA and FBLA, a SkillsUSA member, and earned many awards throughout his high school career.
