Activities Abound For Warsaw Alumni Reunion Weekend

Posted

There will be an abundance of activities for Warsaw Alumni to attend while in Warsaw for the 36th all-school reunion to be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at John Boise Middle School.

Social hour begins at 2:00 PM. There is a $2.00 entry fee, if you have not made reservations for the dinner at 6:00 PM. Classes being honored are 1998/99 for 25th anniversary, 1973/74 for 50th anniversary, and 1948/49 for 75th anniversary.

Alumni can visit the Warsaw Boonslick Library and check out the alumni display. The display will run until June, if you can't make it over the weekend.

Jubilee Days will be having a free concert by Clay Clear Band on Friday, June 7, at 8:00 PM in front of the Post Office. On Saturday, June 8, alumni can take part in the 5K Run/Walk, view the car show, and watch the Jubilee Days parade at 11:00 AM, followed by The Piano Man on the Courthouse lawn at noon.

That evening, Eastern Heights will play a free concert at 8:00 PM in front of the Warsaw Post Office.

Alumni can visit the "Best Kept Secret in Warsaw," the Benton County Museum. While there, they can visit the expanded gunstock room showing why Warsaw was known as the "Gunstock Capital of the World," thanks to Marty Gardner Weaver's (1964) work. At the 2024 Special Exhibit, "Fashion Through the 20th Century," see the wonderful displays organized by Valorie Fauquier (1969) and Sally Pohl Williams (1963). The museum also has a military room, school room, country store and many more rooms full of exhibits. The museum is also home to Steve Hanson's extensive collection of Native American artifacts featuring arrowheads and primitive tools.

Located at 1660 Hilltop Drive, the museum is open 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Friday and Saturday and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday. There's something of interest for everyone at the museum and recall life in Benton County.

Alumni should be ready for a fun-filled weekend in Warsaw meeting and greeting classmates and friends. Hope to see you at the all-school reunion.
