Good Samaritan Residents Take In Many Activities Of Cole Camp Fair

The residents of the Good Samaritan Care Center joined in with the rest of the community and celebrated the Cole Camp Fair too. Even the dining room menu reflected the occasion by serving corn dogs on Thursday, accompanied with waffle fries, Cole slaw and an ice cream bar. On Friday, the residents enjoyed Fair Burgers, french fries accompanied with tomato, pickles and onions and topped off with a fruit pie, just like the church stands on the midway.

Friday was a big adventure for those who signed up to attend the fair. Each year the Cole Camp High School football players escort the residents to the fair, where they can enjoy the exhibits, watch the kid games and enjoy “Fair food” and they all enjoy the football players and the time they spend with them. Of course the highlight of all three days is the parade each evening that passes by and allows the residents a good view of all the entries. One entry is definitely special and that is the GSCC Queen of the Cole Camp Fair. This year Jeanette Bahrenburg was named and she was escorted through the Parade route in a convertible and wearing her crown. Congratulations Jeanette!

GSCC is a great facility and always puts the welfare of each resident first. Making sure that happens is a gal named Lynda Tripp who has been recognized as the September Employee of the Month. Lynda puts the “charge” in charge nurse. When Lynda clocks in she hits the ground running ready to go for whatever gets thrown her way that day. She is a strong team leader who keeps everyone on task to provide excellent patient care. She will go above and beyond to help the residents and their families. Lynda, thank you for all you do!
