The bid opening was held for the purchase of a 100 gallon water heater for the Detention Center at the June 3 meeting of the Benton County Commissioners. One bid was received from C & L Supply HVAC and Plumbing, in the amount of $17,148.28. District Commissioners Scott Harms made the motion to accept the bid as submitted. District 1 Commissioner Larry Berry seconded the motion. The motion passed.
The Benton County Commissioners opened bids for construction and installation of chain link fences at two Benton County locations at their May 28 meeting. One location was the Benton County Dispatch Center, 1231 Hircsh Parkway, Warsaw and at Antwiler Community Park/Cross Timbers Rural Fire Department Station #2, 22842 Highway CC, Edwards. The following bids were received Tri-Bar Construction, LLC in the amount of $15,581.20; White Branch Handyman Services LLC in the amount of $13,500; Corbett Construction in the amount of $48,234.87 and Robinson Fence Company, Inc. in the amount of $48,234.87. The Commissioners voted to accept the bid from White Branch Handyman Service in the amount of $13,500.
A Benton County citizen met with the Commissioners to discuss noxious weeds on Hanna Avenue.
Another Benton County citizen also met with the Commissioners to discuss issues pertaining to aggressive canines in his area. The Commissioners indicated that an ordinance has been adopted to address problems of this nature and that contact should be made with the sheriff’s office and the prosecuting attorney’s office.
A third Benton County citizen met with the Commissioners with questions pertaining to obtaining approval to cross a private road. The Commissioners will follow up with information.
The Commissioners discussed road conditions throughout the county, noting that maintenance will continue as weather allows.
Benton County Clerk Susan Porterfield submitted monthly budget reports for each department; bills were presented for approval and payment.
