Commissioners Approve Bids For Chip Seal Of Jackman Avenue

The bid opening was held for chip and seal of Jackman Avenue at the May 13 meeting of the Benton County Commission. One bid was received for this service from Vance Brothers, Inc., in the amount of $94,900. District 1 Commissioner Larry Berry made the motion to approve the bid from Vance Brothers, Inc. The motion passed.

The Commissioners discussed current road conditions throughout the county, noting that heavy rains had caused damaged to several roads and bridges, especially in the north portion of the county. Necessary repairs and maintenance will be completed as time permits.

The Commissioners discussed the budget amendment as presented by County Clerk Susan Porterfield. This budget amendment addressed the Schedule of Expenditures of federal awards for bridge projects currently under construction. Commissioner Harms made the motion to approve the budget amendment as submitted. The motion passed.

County Treasurer Rick Renno presented his weekly financial report and County Clerk Porterfield submitted bills for approval and payment.

Benton County Economic Development Director Jo Ann Lane met with the Commissioners to present the monthly report of economic development efforts within the county.
