The City of Warsaw announced that Jason Wenberg has accepted the role filling the vacancy for the position of Police Chief.

The decision was made after a rigorous hiring process that included interviews by the Warsaw City Council, as well as it's Police Commission.

Wenberg had a prior tenure with the City of Warsaw from 2006-2020. He was an officer from 2006 to 2012. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal and served in that capacity from 2012-2017. Wenberg was briefly a Sergeant in 2017 before being promoted to Chief of Police, serving in that role from 2018-2020.

After a brief hiatus from law enforcement, Wenberg returned and was currently serving as the Police Chief for the City of Lincoln where he had been since 2022.

"I look forward to coming back to the City of Warsaw," Wenberg said. "They have a great team in place and I look forward to working alongside each one of them again."

Wenberg is a 2000 graduate of Shawnee Mission South High School. He then attended the Missouri Sheriff's Association Training Academy where he graduated in 2006.

He and his wife, Kelly, have 5 daughters; Darby (21), Hallie (20), Keira (17), Mikayla (14) and Kennedi (12).

Mayor Eddie Simons stated, "We are confident that Chief Wenberg's experience and dedication to the profession of law enforcement will immensely benefit the Warsaw Police Department, as well as the City of Warsaw as a whole."
